The Alpina Taunus Mips is a lightweight cycling helmet suitable for mountain biking. It is characterized by a classically elegant sporty design, an adjustable visor and quality workmanship. The low weight of the helmet is possible due to the use of Inmold manufacturing technology, in which the Ceramic Shell upper shell of the helmet is directly connected to the Hi-EPS inner shell. The Ceramic Shell upper shell is resistant to impacts, scratches and UV light. The Hi-EPS inner shell with microscopic air chambers helps absorb forces during impacts. The helmet is also equipped with the MIPS system, a multi-directional impact protection system that can reduce rotational forces during impacts and thus reduce the risk of concussion. All this ensures the safety, robustness and lightness of the helmet and comfort when wearing it. Large air openings together with Airflow Venting technology provide excellent ventilation. In addition, the equipment also includes the high-quality Run System Ergo Flex, which allows for an optimal fit to the head. It also has an adjustable visor and a mesh to protect against insects on the front. The edges of the helmet are additionally protected with Edge Protect technology. MIPS: Multi-Directional Impact Protection System is a technology that reduces rotational forces that occur during a fall or head impact. In the event of an impact on the helmet, the hard outer shell acts first. Then the inner foam shell compresses, which presses against the MIPS layer. Since the friction between the two layers is very low, the shell does not compress against the head, but slides slightly in the direction of impact. This movement is enough to drastically reduce the force and thus the consequences of a head impact
