Description
The Alpina Pikes Mips is a full-face cycling helmet for challenging mountain trails covered in roots and rocks, as well as bike parks. The helmet is extremely lightweight due to its design, weighing only 980 g. It features the MIPS system, a multi-directional impact protection system that can reduce rotational forces during impacts and thus reduce the risk of concussion. The lightweight EPS core is combined with an ABS shell and an EPP chin guard. Large air vents allow for optimal ventilation. It is also equipped with a visor that provides additional protection. The inner lining is odor-resistant. 30 mm inner linings are also included for an optimal fit in the cheek area.

Description
MIPS: Multi-Directional Impact Protection System is a technology that reduces rotational forces that occur during a fall or head impact. In the event of an impact on the helmet, the hard outer shell acts first. The inner foam shell is then compressed, which in turn presses against the MIPS layer. Since the friction between the two layers is very low, the shell does not press against the head, but slides slightly in the direction of the impact. This movement is enough to drastically reduce the force and thus the consequences of a head impact
HI-EPS: The inner mold of Alpina helmets is made of HI-EPS (expandable polystyrene). This material is composed of microscopic air spaces that effectively absorb the forces generated during an impact.
Hard shell: a combination of a hard ABS shell and an inner frame made of EPS and EPP material. HI-EPS padding offers greater impact absorption, while EPP foam has a low specific gravity, good elasticity, strong earthquake resistance and compression resistance, high deformation recovery rate, good absorption capacity
DD-Ring – strong double-locking fastening strap
The helmet is equipped with a 30 mm thick padding.
